Who We Are | Parry Aftab

Ms Aftab, a cyberspace lawyer, and the author of the recently released book, The Parent’s Guide to Protecting Your Children in Cyberspace, McGraw-Hill 2000, is a free speech advocate who seeks to empower parents, not the censors. She was appointed by UNESCO to chair its U.S. Internet safety effort, Innocence in Danger, and presides over Wired Kids, a non-profit umbrella group focusing on children’s equitable access, educational use of the Internet, and online safety. In recognition of her work online with children, Ms Aftab was selected as a charter member of The Children's Television Workshop’s Advisory Board, as well as appointed to The National Urban League’s Technology Advisory Committee. Ms Aftab also represents the children’s Internet industry in legal compliance matters.
